ForseMark PolyStrike™ Ammunition Backdrop-Sensitive Deployment & Qualification Program


I. Program Objective
To prepare law enforcement personnel for the safe, effective, and policy-compliant use of ForseMark PolyStrike™ polymer-tipped ammunition. This training emphasizes backdrop evaluation, controlled expansion dynamics, and platform-specific performance in urban and interior environments.

II. Target Audience
Patrol Officers
Tactical Teams (SWAT, SRT, Warrant Service Units)
Firearms Instructors
Protective Detail Personnel
Academy Cadets and Requalification Candidates

III. Core Competencies
Participants will:
Understand the ballistic behavior of polymer-tipped expanding ammunition
Demonstrate proficiency in backdrop-sensitive engagements
Evaluate barrier performance (drywall, clothing, auto glass)
Qualify with PolyStrike™ across approved duty platforms
Integrate ammunition use into SOPs and documentation protocols

Module 1: Ammunition Familiarization

Polymer tip function and expansion mechanics
Comparison with FMJ, hollow point, and ceramic-tipped rounds
Legal classification and ATF compliance
Tactical use cases and deployment scenarios

Module 2: Barrier Behavior & Backdrop Control
Topics:
Expansion dynamics through drywall, clothing, and glass
Deflection risk and trajectory stability
Shrapnel dispersion and threat disruption
Civilian proximity and backdrop evaluation protocols

Module 3: Live Fire Qualification
Topics:
Platform-specific cycling and accuracy
Scenario-based drills (residential, vehicle, interior structures)
Round count documentation and scoring
Post-qualification review and feedback

Module 4: SOP & Policy Integration
Topics:
Use-of-force alignment and backdrop-sensitive deployment
Documentation standards for expanding ammunition
Inventory control and storage protocols
Annual review and requalification procedures
